My name is Mercedes, and aka Mercy by some of my friends.
I’m one of those “older model Mercedes“…a 1943 vintage. I was born in NYC and after 10 yrs. of marriage, my husband and I moved to CT to raise our family. We now have retired to Centrall Maine, and have been here 9 1/2 yrs. This year we celebrated 44 yrs. of marriage.
I am a born-again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. I was saved in 1960. Through the years of being a “new creature in Christ Jesus”, my faith has grown from a baby stage to a vibrant faith in Him. It is from this perspective that I write my blog. My heart’s desire is to share with you, the things He has taught me, and is still teaching me, as I walk with Him. It is also my heart’s desire that as I share that you might be blessed by Him, in His plan for your life.
If you are not a saved believer in Jesus Christ, perhaps, through the sharing of His Word, it might be the seed that brings you to full bloom in coming to know Him and becoming His child. If you already have this special relationship with Him, that you might be encouraged in your walk with Him; that you might be challenged to study more of His Word; that you would come to know Him, as He wants to be known by you and me. He made us for Himself.
One of my life’s verses is found in Galatians 2:20 – “I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me, and gave himself for me.” – KJV
It is from this perspective that I live and breathe and think and write and face each day…as I keep on Beyond the Strait Gate.
